I started pregnancy on the heavier side and my gynac mentioned my weight once. Now im wondering if its actually ok to lose some during these months or if thats not safe for baby. Anyone been through this?
Please be careful with this. Sudden weight loss in pregnancy can sometimes mean youre not getting enough nutrition or theres heavy vomiting going on. Better to talk to your gynac before changing anything.
I was advised to manage weight not lose it. With my GD they put me on a balanced diet so I didnt gain too fast, but never to drop kilos. Pls dont diet on your own here, let the doctor guide the food.
Pregnancy is not the time to actively try losing weight, the focus should be healthy steady gain. Some women do lose a bit in the first trimester from nausea and thats usually fine, but anything beyond that should be checked with your gynac.
Dont aim to lose weight now. If you were overweight before, the doctor may want you to gain less, but losing is different. Eat well, walk if allowed, leave the weight loss for after delivery.
I actually lost 2 kg in my first trimester coz I couldnt eat anything, threw up everything. My doc said it happens and not to stress as long as baby is growing. Did anyone else lose in the start?
Honestly I focus on staying active not losing. Light walks and prenatal yoga my doc cleared, that keeps me from gaining too much without actually dieting. Big difference between the two na.
