I usually prefer sleeping on my stomach, but now that I'm in my early pregnancy, I'm not sure if it's safe. Can we sleep upside down during the initial months of pregnancy, or should I change my sleeping position?
Right now in early pregnancy it won't harm the baby, but ask your doctor once to be sure. I had to focus so much on my thyroid levels and regular checkups that I just asked my gynac about sleeping positions too, she guided me well.
In the first few weeks, I used to sleep on my stomach quite comfortably. But as my bump started showing, I had to completely switch to my side. That was just my personal experience though.
Honestly, early on it doesn't cause any harm because the fetus is well protected. However, everyone's body is different, so getting your doctor's advice during your routine scan is always the safest bet.
Oh god, I once accidentally rolled onto my stomach in sleep and panicked so badly, thinking I hurt the baby! My doc reassured me that the baby is safely cushioned inside fluid. Don't worry, early pregnancy sleep is hard anyway, sleep however u are comfortable.
Technically, your uterus is still behind the pubic bone in early weeks, so sleeping on your stomach is safe. But as the weeks progress, you'll need to shift to side sleeping. Invest in a good pregnancy pillow early on!
Yaar, sleeping on stomach is fine in early pregnancy because baby is super small. But actually, as you go ahead, it gets very uncomfortable. Better start practicing sleeping on your left side from now only, it really helps!
My mother used to say we should only sleep on our side, but my doctor told me tummy sleeping is fine in the first few weeks. Just listen to your body and rest well. If you feel any discomfort, immediately shift to your side.
My tracker app said sleeping on your tummy is fine in the 1st trimester. But side sleeping, especially on the left, is best for blood circulation as you get bigger. You can track your comfort levels weekly on any good app.
