I used to do squats before and want to continue some exercise to stay active. Im 18 weeks now. just not sure if squatting is fine in pregnancy or i should avoid it. anyone still doing them?
Squats are generally fine and even helpful in later months, but slow and supported, not heavy gym squats. Both pregnancies I did light ones. If you feel pain or pressure, stop and ask your doctor.
I had to avoid a lot of exercises because of my situation, so I will say please check with your gynac before squatting. For a normal healthy pregnancy its usually okay, but get it confirmed for your case.
My doctor actually encouraged gentle squats in the last weeks and I think it helped my normal delivery. Just hold a support and go slow. Dont strain at all.
I do gentle squats but only after my doctor cleared me and a prenatal trainer guided the form. They are actually good for the body if done right. Please get a green signal first though, especially if any complication.
Light squats are fine for most, dear, our women have squatted while doing housework forever. Just dont overdo and hold something for balance. Confirm with your doctor and you are good.
