I had a bad throat and cough and someone at home suggested azithromycin, but im 3 months pregnant so i didnt take anything yet. I will ask my gynac before taking but wanted to know if others were prescribed it during pregnancy. Just curious about your experience.
Please dont take any antibiotic on your own in pregnancy. It may be given in some cases but only the doctor decides that after seeing why you need it. Call your gynac before taking even one tablet.
I had an infection in my second trimester and my doctor prescribed an antibiotic that was safe for me, but it was her call entirely. For azithromycin pls check with your own gynac, dont go by what worked for someone else.
Some antibiotics are prescribed in pregnancy when needed, but azithromycin specifically your doctor has to decide, dose and all. Never self medicate now. Just ring the clinic and ask, they will tell you quickly.
Dont take it without asking the doctor. Antibiotics in pregnancy are case by case. A quick call to your gynac will give you the right answer for your situation.
