I was diagnosed hypothyroid before pregnancy and now that im expecting im not sure if i should continue the same medicine. Will ask my doc at next visit but wanted to hear from others who manage thyroid in pregnancy.
My doctor explained that the common thyroid replacement is safe and the requirement often goes up in pregnancy, so they monitor levels and adjust dose. Never stop it on ur own, that can harm baby's development.
Please continue it, don't even think of stopping without doctor. Untreated thyroid in pregnancy is risky. Just stay on ur prescribed dose and do regular checks so they can tweak it as needed.
Yes absolutely, thyroid medicine is actually needed and safe in pregnancy, mine even increased the dose. Stopping it is the dangerous part. Just keep doing ur TSH tests on time and let doctor adjust.
Yes dear i took mine throughout, totally fine. My family worried about taking medicine in pregnancy but doctor reassured it's essential. Keep taking it and go for ur follow up blood tests.
I was on thyroid meds through my whole pregnancy after IVF and it was completely fine. Doctors monitor it closely. Continuing is what keeps both u and baby healthy, so don't worry about taking it.
