Can we take triphala tablet when planning to conceive?
We are trying since few months and i take triphala regularly for digestion. Now im confused if i should continue while ttc. Will ask my gynac also but wanted to hear from u all first.
I am currently pregnant and I remember my elders told me to avoid triphala because of its warm nature, as it can cause stomach cramps. Are you taking it for constipation or just general gut health? If it's constipation, maybe try having soaked raisins or warm milk at night instead, what do you think?
Dealing with gut issues while planning a baby is so frustrating, I had terrible stomach issues later too! Triphala has laxative properties which might trigger uterine contractions, so it's usually not recommended when you're planning. For constipation, try eating more fiber-rich foods like oats, papaya (only before pregnancy), and plenty of water instead.
Even when planning, our food habits and digestion play such a big role! Honestly, triphala is a bit too strong for the body when you are trying to conceive. Instead of pills, maybe try focusing on yummy high-fiber foods, fresh fruits, and lots of buttermilk to keep your gut happy and healthy!
With my PCOS history, I was always extra careful about everything I took while planning my pregnancy. Triphala is great for digestion normally, but my doctor had advised me to avoid any detox tablets or strong laxatives during the trying phase as they can sometimes interfere. It's always safer to check with your gynac once before starting or continuing it.
Oh honey, I totally understand how stressful the preconception journey can be and how we want to make sure everything is perfect before conceiving. I would honestly suggest stopping any strong herbal tablets like triphala right now because they can have a heavy laxative effect which isn't safe when you're trying to conceive. Please talk to your gynac once, they will guide you beautifully.
