Can we travel during first trimester of pregnancy?
We have a family wedding out of station next month and ill be around 10 weeks by then. Its a 6-7 hour car journey and im a little tense about whether its safe in first tri or i should skip. Anyone travelled early on, how was it?
First trimester is quite sensitive, so avoiding unnecessary travel is usually recommended. I had thyroid issues so I had to be extra cautious and did regular doctor follow-ups instead of traveling. Do check with your gynac once.
I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and we have an important family function in another city next week. Is train travel safer than road travel in early months? What did your doctors advise you guys?
I felt so anxious about traveling in my first trimester because it's such a delicate time. I actually cancelled our weekend trip because I just wanted to be safe at home. If you really have to travel, please talk to your doctor first.
My mother and saas strictly told me not to travel or go on long bumpy rides in the first three months. Since Indian roads can be so rough, it's better to avoid long journeys. Ask your doctor if it's absolutely necessary.
I kept up with light walking and yoga during my first trimester with my doctor's permission, but I completely avoided any long travels. Safe, smooth roads might be okay for short distances, but definitely consult your gynac before planning anything.
