Ghar pe we only have the indian squat toilet and im in my second trimester now. Sometimes feels a bit uncomfortable getting up. Is it ok to keep using or should i switch somehow?
Oh, I totally understand the concerns you might have about every little thing during pregnancy! Squatting is actually a very natural position and can be beneficial. Your body is amazing, and it knows how to adapt. Just be gentle with yourself and ensure you feel stable. You're doing great!
Amma, in our homes, we mostly use squat toilets only, especially in villages. It's actually considered good for the body, helps open the pelvis. My mother always said it's natural. But if you have pain or balance issues, then it's better to use a western one. Always listen to your body and your doctor.
Girl, I swear by squat toilets for 'getting things moving' if you know what I mean! 😉 Seriously though, it's actually quite natural and can help with pelvic floor muscles. Just make sure you're not slipping and hold onto something if needed. Don't try acrobatics, just a simple squat!
Haan, my gynac also said it's fine. In fact, she encouraged it because it helps keep the pelvic floor flexible. I'm still doing it, but I hold onto the wall now because my bump is getting bigger and balance is a bit off sometimes.
Absolutely, you can! Squatting is actually very beneficial for strengthening your pelvic floor and can help with perineal stretching, which is good for labour. Just be careful with your balance, especially in the later months. If you feel any discomfort or unsteadiness, switch to a commode.
Using a squat toilet is actually very good! It puts you in a natural birthing position and strengthens the right muscles. I used it throughout my pregnancy and had a normal delivery. Just ensure you have a good grip or support nearby to prevent falls, especially when getting up.
Haan, definitely! Actually, many experts and even some pregnancy apps recommend squatting for pelvic floor strength, which can be helpful for delivery. Just make sure you have good balance and support, especially as your bump grows. No sudden movements!
From a practical standpoint, squatting can actually be beneficial. It helps maintain pelvic flexibility and can prepare your body for labour by strengthening pelvic floor muscles. However, safety is key. If you feel dizzy, unbalanced, or have any joint pain, it's safer to use a Western commode or a squatting stool over a Western toilet.
I'm in my second trimester too and I've been wondering this! My balance isn't what it used to be. Is it really safe till the end? I try to use the western one more often now but sometimes at ghar pe it's only squat. Do others find it difficult in later months?
