I used to do brisk walking before and want to continue for staying active, im 4 months now. Not sure if fast walking is okay or if i should slow down to a normal pace. What do u all do?
I did quick walks in the evening after work, it actually helped my swelling and sleep. Just keep it at a pace where you're not gasping. Carry water and dont do it on an empty or super full stomach. Easy and doable for busy days.
Brisk walking is fine for most normal pregnancies and actually good for you, but not panting-level fast. Wear good shoes, walk on flat ground, and avoid it in peak heat. If you've had any complications check with your gynac first, otherwise a comfortable fast walk is great.
For most women yes, but I'd say clear it with your doctor especially if you have any condition. I was told to keep mine to gentle walks only because of my situation. So a general yes, but get your own doctor's go ahead on the pace.
I kept up brisk walking through my pregnancy but only after my doctor cleared me. The thumb rule she gave was I should be able to talk comfortably while walking, if I'm too breathless to chat, slow down. Listen to your body and dont push to the point of exhaustion.
