Im just 6 weeks and my MIL keeps saying dont stand too long or bend for washing. But I stay alone with hubby na, so ghar ke kaam toh karne padte hai. Is hand washing clothes actually a problem this early? pls share.
Oh god, I totally get why you are asking this, even small things used to make me so anxious in my first trimester. Honestly, doing light clothes in the machine is totally fine but please dont lift heavy buckets of wet clothes. Better to take it easy right now and let someone else do the heavy lifting.
I am in my 5th month now and honestly I still get scared doing household work. Did any of u also feel super nervous about washing clothes or bending in the first few weeks? I ended up asking my husband to handle the laundry because I was just too paranoid.
Having PCOS made me super cautious during my early weeks, so I didn't want to take any risk at all. I completely stopped hand washing or carrying heavy laundry baskets just to be safe. It is always better to go slow and not push your body, especially in the first trimester.
For me, I used to wash clothes in the washing machine throughout my early pregnancy and it was totally fine. But I strictly avoided lifting any heavy buckets of wet clothes or bending too much to wash by hand. That was just my personal experience to stay safe.
We are planning to conceive soon and I keep reading about these things too. I think doing very light laundry is fine, but maybe we should avoid putting too much pressure on ourselves. Gentle care is so important, na.
I remember during my early weeks, just the smell of detergent used to make me throw up so badly. If u dont have bad nausea, normal machine washing is fine, but please avoid hand washing heavy stuff because bending too much can make u feel even more dizzy and sick.
