I used to do core stuff before getting pregnant and im missing it na. now im 14 weeks and not sure if ab exercises are safe ya I should completely stop. dont wanna do anything risky for the baccha. anyone kept up with ab workouts?
Pregnancy is a beautiful time to connect with your baby, so just do whatever makes your mind and body peaceful. I used to do very gentle yoga stretches while listening to mantras, but skipped heavy workouts altogether. God has made our bodies strong, just trust him and take care.
Because of my past experience, I was extremely cautious and completely avoided any kind of abdominal exercises. My doctor also suggested to take it very easy and stick to gentle walking. If you feel even slightly unsure, please ask your doctor before starting any core workouts.
I totally get why you're asking this, I used to get so anxious about every little movement thinking it might hurt the baby. Honestly, if it makes you nervous, just skip the heavy ab workouts and stick to simple walks. Your peace of mind is way more important right now!
At my home, my mother-in-law was completely against any strenuous movements and wanted me to rest all day. But I spoke to my doctor and she said light, safe core exercises are fine if there are no complications. I listened to my doc but did very basic safe stretches so family also stayed happy.
Oh I completely panicked when I accidentally did a heavy stretch in my first trimester thinking I ruined something! But honestly after talking to my trainer and gynac I got to know normal mild core exercises are actually good if you don't overdo it. Just avoid lying flat on your back after the first trimester, okay?
