Got a faint positive yesterday and a clear one today but im still not believing it fully. Can these tests give wrong result sometimes? Dont want to get my hopes up for nothing.
I actually had two negative tests before getting a positive one in my 6th week! I was so anxious and kept wondering if my body was acting weird. Did anyone else also get multiple negative tests in the beginning?
This is exactly what I worry about while planning! It must be so confusing to get a wrong result. I guess waiting for a proper missed period is the only way to be sure.
Oh absolutely! In my first trimester, I got a negative test, so I went and ate a whole plate of spicy momos, only to find out a week later that I was indeed pregnant! These home kits can definitely play mind games with you.
My gynac told me that while false positives are very rare, false negatives are quite common if you test too early. If your body hasn't produced enough hCG hormone yet, the test can easily show negative even if you are pregnant. She advised waiting a few days and testing again.
I recently delivered and yes, my first test was negative because I tested 3 days before my missed period. When I tested again after a week of delay, the line was dark as ever. So yes, timing is everything.
Practically speaking, yes. If you don't follow the instructions exactly, or if you read the result after the 5-minute window, it can show an evaporation line which looks like a false positive. Always check the control line first and use first morning urine.
