I'm curious about changes in the breasts during pregnancy. Do all women experience breast leaking during pregnancy, or is it something that only happens to some? I'm wondering what to expect.
If you do start leaking, don't buy those expensive nursing pads right away. You can just cut clean cotton hanky squares and place them inside your bra, it works perfectly and is totally washable. If you don't leak, that's fine too, less laundry!
I remember feeling so self-conscious because my friends were talking about leaking yellow liquid and I had nothing. It's totally okay sweetie, your body is preparing in its own unique way. Sending you love, you are going to be a wonderful mom.
Having thyroid meant I had to be very careful with my doctor visits, and I asked my gynac about this too. She assured me that lack of leaking has zero connection with your future milk supply. Just keep your hormone levels checked regularly.
When I asked my mom about this, she laughed and said she never leaked a drop during her pregnancies but breastfed us perfectly. I also didn't leak until my baby was in my arms. Our body knows exactly what to do, don't worry.
I am at 28 weeks and my bra is completely dry, so I was actually starting to worry if I will be able to nurse. Do some women really not leak at all until the baby is born? It's so relieving to read these replies.
I haven't seen any leaking yet, but my appetite has definitely doubled! I am too busy enjoying my samosas to worry about leaky breasts, haha. But yes, my gynac said both leaking and no leaking are 100% fine.
I just delivered last month, and I can tell you I had zero leaking during my whole pregnancy. But the moment my baby was born, my milk came in beautifully on day three. So please don't stress about this at all!
Absolutely not, every body is different. Some women leak from the second trimester, while others don't see a single drop until after delivery. Both are completely normal, so don't compare yourself to others and worry.
