My beta hcg went up but not as much as expected and the doc has asked me to come back for a scan. Im really anxious and trying to understand this. Does hcg keep rising in an ectopic too or does it stop? pls share if anyone has been through this.
Please dont try to figure this out from numbers at home, an ectopic is serious and needs urgent medical care. If you have pain on one side, bleeding or dizziness with a positive test, go to the doctor immediately. I learnt the hard way to never delay.
This topic is close to my heart and I just want to say please be gentle with yourself and get scans done early. The hcg pattern can be confusing, only the doctor can interpret it properly. Sending you strength.
Yes hcg can still rise in an ectopic but often more slowly than a normal pregnancy. My doctor explained they track the rise over 48 hours and do a scan to confirm location. So the number alone doesnt tell, the trend and ultrasound do.
