Bit of a basic question but it's been on my mind. Once you conceive does the body still ovulate every month or does that completely stop? just trying to understand how it all works.
No, once u are pregnant the body stops ovulating. The hormones change completely to support the baby, so no new egg releases till after delivery. Thats just how it works.
I was curious about this too actually. So if ovulation stops, thats why periods also stop right? Someone correct me but I think the whole cycle pauses during pregnancy.
My gynac explained pregnancy hormones suppress ovulation, so no egg is released while u carry. Thats also the reason u dont get periods. She said this continues and can even extend if u breastfeed after, though not as reliable birth control.
I learnt this recently while reading about cycles. Once pregnant the ovulation pauses, so the body wont release another egg. It was new info for me too, glad someone asked.
