My skin suddenly broke out so badly this past week, never had this much acne before. Im around 6 weeks now. Is this a hormonal pregnancy thing or am i overthinking? anyone else faced this early on?

My mother used to say breakouts mean it could be a girl, but that's just an old talk na, don't believe it for gender. The pimples are really just hormones, very common. Eat clean, drink water and it usually calms down with time.
Mine too, lots of pimples in the start. I just washed my face with plain water more often and dabbed a little rosewater, kept it very simple. But if it gets very painful or cystic, better show a dermatologist who knows you're pregnant.
My gynac said it's because of the hormone surge in early pregnancy, the oil glands get more active. She told me to keep it simple, gentle face wash and avoid harsh acne creams. Some retinoid products are not safe in pregnancy so I checked everything with her first.
With my PCOS I always had acne, so in early pregnancy it got a bit worse for me. Everyone's skin reacts differently though, some glow and some break out. I just stuck to mild products and asked my doctor before using anything new.
Oh yes the pregnancy pimples are very real :) I had a few in month one and panicked thinking my skincare stopped working. Turned out it was the hormones all along, completely normal so don't worry.
Yes! I felt so frustrated because my skin broke out badly in the first few weeks and I didn't even know I was pregnant yet. I felt like a teenager again honestly. It settled down a lot by my second trimester so don't lose hope.
