Maybe a silly question but it popped in my head. Once we are already pregnant does the body still ovulate every month or does it stop? Just curious how it actually works.
My doctor explained that during pregnancy the hormones basically pause ovulation, the body knows it's already carrying. That's why no periods through the nine months. Normal cycle and ovulation only return some time after delivery.
No, once you're pregnant the body stops the monthly ovulation, the hormones change to support the pregnancy. So no eggs releasing during these months. That's also why your periods stop.
I wondered the same thing early on. From what I learnt, no we dont ovulate while pregnant, that whole process is on hold. It made sense to me once they explained periods stop for the same reason.
I had this doubt too while reading up. The answer is no, the body doesnt ovulate during pregnancy. If you have any specific worry behind asking, your gynac can explain it better for your case.
