After delivery I feel my posture has changed and my back is always bent while feeding. My sister joked I look shorter now, and now I am wondering if it actually happens. Anyone felt like this postpartum?
I felt all hunched and somehow smaller for the first couple months after delivery, honestly. But it was posture and the tiredness of carrying baby all day. Once I started standing straight again I felt back to normal height.
Haha I felt shorter, wider and like a melon on legs after delivery! But no, you don't actually shrink. It's the slouching and exhaustion. Fix the posture and you're back to your normal self.
Not really shorter permanently. During pregnancy posture changes and back curves with the weight, so you might feel a bit slouched, but height comes back as you recover. After 2 kids I'm the same height, just had to work on my posture again.
My physio explained that the bump pulls your posture forward and can compress how you stand, plus relaxin loosens joints, so you might feel shorter or off-balance for a while. It's mostly temporary. Doing gentle posture and core work after delivery sorts it out. Permanent loss is rare.
