Im in my second tri now and my old jeans dont fit at all, and its not just the belly, my hips feel wider too. Is this actually a thing that happens or im imagining it? Does it go back after delivery?
Haan beta it's normal. Body is just making space for baby. Some widening can stay a little after but it's nothing to worry about, your shape settles with time.
Mine widened too. My gynac said it's the relaxin hormone loosening the pelvis. She told me gentle walks and the prenatal stretches she approved help with the achy hip feeling that comes with it.
Yes they do, and with second baby it was more noticeable for me. Some of it is the joints loosening, some is just weight. Buy comfy clothes and dont stress about old jeans for now.
Looking back, yeah they widened during pregnancy and for me they didn't fully go back to before, like one cm maybe. Honestly didn't even bother me once baby came, you stop caring about jeans.
Mine did a bit honestly. The body releases some hormones that loosen the joints so hips feel wider, it helps for delivery actually. After a few months postpartum it settled mostly back.
