I have a bad throat infection going on and someone suggested azithromycin. Im 18 weeks pregnant so im scared to take anything on my own. Will definitely check with my doctor first, just wanted to know if any of u took it during pregnancy.
Some antibiotics are used in pregnancy when there's a genuine infection, but it's strictly a doctor's call which one and how much. Dont buy and take it yourself. If you have an infection, see your gynac and let her prescribe.
This is an antibiotic and it should only be taken if ur own doctor prescribes it for you, not on your own. Doctors do give certain antibiotics in pregnancy when needed but they decide based on your case. Please dont self start it, call ur gynac.
Rule for any medicine in pregnancy, doctor decides, full stop. Antibiotics especially. If you're unwell, dont delay, see ur gynac and she'll give whatever is safe for you. Dont take it just because someone else did.
I really wouldnt decide on any antibiotic from advice online. Whether its safe for you depends on your situation, and only your treating doctor can judge that. Please get a proper prescription rather than self medicating.
