Does cigarette smoking create problem in conceiving?
My husband smokes daily and we have been trying for almost a year with no luck. Im starting to wonder if his smoking is part of the reason. Has anyone else faced this, did quitting help?
Honestly yes, it affects egg and sperm quality both, so both partners should ideally stop. It also raises miscarriage risk later. Quitting even a few months before trying makes a real difference, so worth doing it now.
Yes, smoking is known to lower fertility for both partners and can make conceiving harder. It also affects pregnancy health later. The best thing is to quit before trying, and your doctor can help with that if needed.
We are planning soon and my husband smokes, so this is a good reminder. I'll talk to him about cutting down before we start. Thanks for raising this, didnt realise it affects him too.
