I have been having this bad cough for 4-5 days and every time i cough hard i feel a pull in my tummy. Im 22 weeks. Getting a little scared if all this coughing can do something to the baby inside. Is it normal?
Beta for a mild cough warm water, a little honey if not diabetic, and steam used to help us. But dont take any cough medicine from the shop on your own. If the cough stays long or you get fever, show the doctor.
Cough itself is usually fine, but if it comes with high fever, breathlessness or doesnt settle, please see the doctor. I ignored a lingering one once and it turned into something needing treatment. Better to get checked early.
A normal cough doesnt reach or harm the baby, they are well cushioned inside. I had a bad cold in my second pregnancy and baby was completely fine. Just rest, take warm fluids and dont take any syrup without asking gynac.
