My sugar levels have been borderline and we are planning for baby. I am worried if this can delay conceiving or create issues later. Did anyone conceive while managing diabetes?
It can, my doctor said uncontrolled sugar makes conceiving harder and also raises risks early in pregnancy. But once its well managed, many women conceive and have healthy babies. Getting sugar under control before trying is what she stressed most.
I was looking into this too since we are planning. From what I gathered, diabetes itself doesnt block conceiving but poor control can affect it and the early weeks. Pre pregnancy counselling with a doctor seems to be the smart first step.
Diabetes mainly matters when its not controlled, that can affect both conceiving and the pregnancy. The good news is with proper management plenty of women do conceive fine. Best to do a preconception checkup and get the sugar in a good range first.
PCOS often comes with sugar issues for many of us, and yes it can make conceiving take longer. Managing weight, diet and sugar levels really helped me. Please get guidance from ur doctor, dont go by general advice alone.
