I had fever last night and someone at home told me about Dolo, but I didnt take anything yet. I am 9 weeks and will call my gynac if fever stays. Has anyone been prescribed it while pregnant?
Quick answer, dolo is paracetamol and most gynacs are okay with it for occasional fever or headache in pregnancy. I kept it for genuine need only, not every body ache. A quick call or text to your doctor about dosage takes two minutes and is worth it.
Dolo 650 is just paracetamol, which doctors generally consider one of the safer options in pregnancy for fever or pain. That said, dont pop it casually for everything, take it only when needed and ideally tell your gynac. Self dosing repeatedly isnt great even with a safe medicine.
I took dolo for fever in both pregnancies after my doctor okayed it, its paracetamol so its usually allowed. But dont take it like candy for every little ache. If you have a fever thats high or not coming down, that itself needs the doctor, not just the tablet.
It is generally among the safer ones, but please dont treat that as a free pass to take it on your own often. When i had any fever i would call my doctor first about dose and how many days. The fever's cause matters more than the tablet itself.
