My cousin has epilepsy from childhood and she just found out she's expecting, the whole family is a bit tense about it. She's already worried about her medicines and the baby. If anyone here has gone through pregnancy with epilepsy pls share how it went for you.
Dont panic na. Yes it needs extra care but its not something that means u cant have a baby. The key is good doctor follow up. Sit with ur neuro and gynac and they will guide u step by step.
This is something u really need to discuss properly with ur neurologist and gynac together. Epilepsy and the medicines for it both need careful planning before and during pregnancy. Pls dont stop or change any medicine on ur own, it can be risky for both of u.
I understand the worry, any condition during pregnancy feels scary. But please dont carry this stress alone, talk to ur doctor and let them reassure u with a proper plan. Many women go through this and come out fine with monitoring.
My cousin has epilepsy and she had a healthy baby. Her doctors planned everything in advance, adjusted her meds before conceiving and did extra scans. The doctor told her many women with epilepsy have normal pregnancies with proper monitoring, so its very manageable just needs a good specialist team.
I dont have epilepsy so i cant guide on the medical side honestly. But i have seen women in my family manage health conditions through pregnancy with the right doctors. Pls get a specialist opinion, thats the safest.
