Just found out i have a small fibroid in a routine scan and now im worried sick. We want to start a family soon. Does having fibroids actually make it harder to get pregnant or does it depend on size and location? Really want to hear from someone who's dealt with this.
Dont scare yourself reading the worst online, beta. Many women with fibroids have perfectly normal pregnancies. Get it properly checked and let the doctor guide you, fibroids are very common and manageable.
My doctor explained that most small fibroids dont affect fertility, but ones that distort the uterine cavity can. So it is not a yes or no answer, it depends on type and position. A scan and a fertility specialist's opinion is the right way to know your case.
I had a fibroid and still conceived, so it does not always block pregnancy. It really depends on the size and location, mine was small and not in the way. Please get yours assessed by your gynac, they will tell you if it needs any action.
