Someone in family joked that taking folic acid can increase chance of twins and now I am curious. We are trying to conceive and twins run in my husband's side. Is there any truth to this?
I also read this somewhere and asked my doctor, she said its not true. Folic acid is just for healthy baby. So i take it daily but not expecting twins from it, hehe.
In my case twins came because of IVF, not folic acid. Folic acid is super important before and during pregnancy but it doesnt make twins. Please dont increase your dose thinking it will, just take what your doctor said.
Heard this so many times haha. Folic acid protects the baby, it has nothing to do with twins. Twins depend on family history or treatments like IUI IVF. Just take your prescribed folic, nothing extra.
No yaar, folic acid is for baby's brain and spine development, not for twins. Twins mostly happen due to genetics or fertility treatments. Take folic acid because doctor advised, not for any twin hope.
Folic acid does not cause twins, thats just a myth floating around. Its only to prevent birth defects. If twins run in your family chances are higher, otherwise its mostly luck.
