My hb was 11 before and now in 5th month report it came a little less. Doc didnt seem worried but I'm wondering is this normal during pregnancy or do i need to be careful?
Oh dear, I totally understand how worrying it feels to see your blood reports dropping. Our bodies are sharing everything with our precious little babies, so a drop in haemoglobin is very common. Just take care of your health and pamper yourself, you are doing great.
Yes, it's clinically called physiological anemia of pregnancy. Your blood volume expands by almost 50%, so the red blood cells get diluted. Just make sure you are regular with your prenatal iron supplements and eat iron-rich foods, and check your levels regularly.
Actually, yes yaar, it is super common for haemoglobin to drop. Mere saath bhi hua tha, the blood volume increases so Hb dilutes. Just eat your green veggies and don't skip your iron pills, chill and don't take tension.
Trust me, I absolutely panicked when my Hb level fell to 9! But my doctor laughed and said it's very common because our blood volume increases to support the baby, so it gets diluted. Once I took my regular iron tablets, it got much better.
I can't give medical details, but in my case, my haemoglobin definitely dropped quite a bit during my second trimester. My doctor just put me on iron supplements and advised eating more beetroot and apples, which helped slowly.
