My lipid report showed cholesterol high and I am planning pregnancy. Doctor appointment is next week, but I got worried after seeing the report. Can this affect conceiving or pregnancy?
Some rise in cholesterol during pregnancy is expected since the body needs it for baby's development. But existing high cholesterol should be discussed with ur gynac, they may guide on diet and monitoring.
Dont panic over it. A small increase is part of pregnancy. Just share ur reports with the gynac and follow what they say, they'll guide u on food and tests.
I had to watch my numbers closely due to GD, and they kept an eye on cholesterol too. Mostly diet, more home cooked food, less fried, helped. But let ur doctor decide whats needed for u.
When I asked my doctor she said cholesterol going up is common and usually settles after delivery. But if its very high it needs attention, so regular checkups are key. Eat balanced, avoid too much fried stuff.
Cholesterol naturally rises a bit in pregnancy, that part is normal. But if its high otherwise, please get it monitored by ur doctor, dont ignore it. Better to be checked than guess.
