Got my routine blood reports and esr is coming high. gynac said we'll discuss in next visit but thats 10 days away and im honestly overthinking. has anyone had raised esr in pregnancy, did it mean anything serious?
I had a slightly high ESR too and got worried, but my gynac explained it can rise naturally when pregnant. Don't self diagnose from one value, let the doc read it with your other tests.
ESR alone doesn't tell much, it's a general marker. In pregnancy it's often mildly raised. Best to show the report to your gynac and ask if any further test is needed rather than reading google.
If your ESR is very high they may want to check for any infection, so please don't ignore it. But mild rise is common in pregnancy. Let your doctor decide, that's the safest.
My doctor told me ESR usually goes up a bit in pregnancy itself, it's normal because of body changes. She said it's not a worry on its own, they look at it along with other reports. Ask your gynac what your full picture shows.
