My TSH came high in blood report and I am already pregnant, around 9 weeks. I am taking appointment with endocrinologist, but till then I am worried. Did anyone manage thyroid issue during pregnancy?
It does matter but its also super common and very treatable. Best thing is to follow your doctor's advice and do the repeat TSH tests on time. Self googling will only scare you, trust the reports.
I wont pretend to know all the medical side but high TSH is something doctors take seriously in pregnancy. Please get it checked properly and follow whatever your gynac and physician say, dont self adjust anything.
Haan high TSH needs monitoring during pregnancy, lots of women including me had it. Take the tablet on empty stomach like they tell you and dont miss your retests. With proper follow up its completely fine.
Yes it can, i had high TSH and my doc started me on medicine and checked it every few weeks. Once it was controlled my pregnancy went totally normal. The key is to not skip the thyroid blood tests, they adjust the dose based on that.
My gynac explained that untreated high TSH can affect the baby's development, so they keep the target lower during pregnancy than normal. She coordinated with an endocrinologist for my dose. The good news is once managed it really isnt a big worry.
