Might be a silly question but im genuinely confused. We use lube sometimes and im not sure if it has any role in getting pregnant. Can someone clear this up for me?
Honestly, standard lubricants don't cause pregnancy at all. If you are trying to get pregnant, normal lubes might actually act as a barrier for the sperm, so it's practically better to avoid them or use sperm-friendly ones. I know how stressful the trying phase is, so just take it easy and don't worry about these small things.
Commercial lubricants definitely don't cause pregnancy, and actually, using the wrong ones can waste your money and delay conception because they kill sperm. If you are trying to conceive, look for affordable fertility-friendly brands. This helps avoid unnecessary doctor visits and expensive tests later on by doing it right from the start.
When we first started trying, I felt so confused about how everything worked. I remember worrying if using normal lubes would affect our chances or cause issues. Personally, I felt so relieved when I learned that regular lubricants don't cause pregnancy and can actually slow down the sperm, so we had to be very careful.
During our fertility consultation at the hospital, I clearly asked the medical staff about this. The nurse explained that standard lubricants do not cause pregnancy and can actually hinder sperm motility. They recommended a specific clinical, fertility-friendly lube to use, so it's always best to ask your care team for the safest options.
Oh god, I used to overthink this so much and google if even a tiny bit of pre-cum or lubrication could cause pregnancy! If you mean the body's natural arousal fluid, it doesn't have sperm, but pre-cum definitely can. It's so stressful to worry about these details, so please take a deep breath, you are not alone in worrying!
I can only share my own experience, but when we were trying to conceive, we found out that standard lubes can actually make it harder to get pregnant because they affect sperm movement. We switched to a special sperm-friendly lubricant and got our positive result. So normal lube definitely doesn't cause pregnancy, in fact it might do the opposite.
