I have a few ovulation strips left over from last month and was wondering if i can use them instead of buying a pregnancy kit. Thoda confused matlab they both use urine na, so can it tell? pls share if anyone has tried this.
Suno, don't stress yourself with these experiments. Ovulation kit is only for finding your fertile days, not for confirming pregnancy. Go to the chemist, get a proper home pregnancy kit, and test with your morning first urine. Everything will be fine, don't worry.
Technically ovulation kits are designed to measure LH hormone, not HCG which is the pregnancy hormone. Sometimes they can cross-react because the hormones are structurally similar, but it's not reliable. Honestly, it is always best to use a proper pregnancy kit or ask your doctor for a blood test.
Actually I had this exact same doubt in my first trimester because I had leftover ovulation strips! I tried it once and got super confused by the line. Did anyone else also try this or is it just me? Standard pregnancy tests are much safer to trust, trust me.
No way, don't rely on ovulation kits for this, that's not what they are made for. LH and HCG are different hormones altogether. Just buy a standard pregnancy detection kit like Prega News, it's cheap and actually accurate.
Mere pregnancy ke time when I was staying at my parents place, my mom also got confused about this. We realized ovulation kits are only to track your fertile days. For checking pregnancy, normal pregnancy test card is much better and gives peace of mind to the whole family.
Humare ghar pe toh my saas said why use these fancy kits for pregnancy testing when normal ones are there. She was right actually, ovulation kits are for tracking egg release, not pregnancy. Don't use them for this, it will only confuse u more.
