Im supposed to get a pelvic scan done for some other reason but my period is also late this month. Now im wondering if the same scan would show if im pregnant. Bit confused, has anyone had this?
Yes it shows it, and actually its important because it can also check the pregnancy is in the right place. Mine caught an issue early through pelvic scan. So definitely a useful one, go ahead if doc advised it.
My doc said pelvic ultrasound can confirm pregnancy and check the location, like to rule out ectopic. The internal pelvic scan detects earlier than the abdominal one. If you've got a positive test, this is usually the scan they do.
When I had my early scan it was the pelvic one and yes it clearly showed the pregnancy and sac. So if you're going for one, it should confirm things, as long as you're far enough along.
Yes it does. Pelvic ultrasound, especially the transvaginal one, is exactly what they use to confirm early pregnancy and see the sac. After 6 weeks it shows more clearly. So yes that scan will pick it up.
