Just found out im pregnant, around 5 weeks. i had a small bowl of pineapple yesterday before knowing and now im panicking because everyone says its not good in early pregnancy. should i be worried? pls share.
I avoided it in the first weeks honestly just because my mind wouldnt rest otherwise. Later I asked my doctor and she said a little is fine. If skipping it gives u peace, skip for now, no harm either way. Dont stress over one fruit.
Beta our elders always said avoid pineapple in the early months, especially the core. I skipped it the first trimester just to feel safe, more for peace of mind. Small amounts later are generally okay though.
A normal serving of pineapple is fine, the scare is about eating huge amounts. I had it occasionally in both pregnancies with no issue. Just dont go overboard. If you're extra cautious early on, keep it small or ask your doctor.
The pineapple worry is mostly exaggerated, you'd have to eat a crazy quantity for the enzyme to matter. In moderation it's fine for most. Still, if you're early and anxious, just confirm with your own gynac, easy to settle.
