My recent thyroid report came slightly off and i never had any issue before this pregnancy. Now im wondering if pregnancy itself can bring this on. Did this happen to anyone else? will discuss with my gynac too.
Its quite common to have thyroid changes in pregnancy, so dont be alarmed. The main thing is regular testing and taking medicine on time if prescribed. Many of us managed it just fine with follow ups.
Pregnancy can affect thyroid levels and sometimes it shows up or worsens during this time. Mine was picked up in early tests and I needed regular follow up. Please keep doing your TSH checks as your gynac advises, its important for the baby too.
My doctor explained pregnancy increases thyroid demand, so some women develop hypothyroidism or it gets unmasked. Thats why they test TSH routinely. If yours is off, its very manageable with medication and monitoring.
