i tested at home and got a faint second line, now im not sure if i can trust it fully or not. periods are 5 days late. how reliable are these kits really? should i repeat after few days?
Yes they are quite accurate if used correctly, meaning morning urine and after the missed period. Testing too early is the main reason for wrong results. I trusted my kit both times and confirmed with a blood test.
Good brand kits are over 95 percent accurate when used per instructions. Faint lines, expired kits or early testing cause errors. For full confidence, a beta hCG blood test is the gold standard.
I never fully trusted the kit and did three of them plus a blood test, total overkill I know. They all matched in the end. So yes they work, just dont spiral like me, one proper test is enough.
