Does thyroid increase during pregnancy?

Question

I already had borderline thyroid before conceiving and now my reports show it going up a bit. Is this a normal thing that happens in pregnancy or something to really worry about? Wondering if others had the same.

Mine needed dose changes in both pregnancies. Just dont miss your tablet and get the blood test on time. Once managed properly it is no big deal.

My doctor said the body's thyroid demand goes up in pregnancy, so TSH needs monitoring. Even women with normal thyroid sometimes get checked. She told me untreated thyroid can affect baby's development, so testing matters.

Dont panic if levels move, its quite common in pregnancy. Just keep up the tests and tablets your gynac advises. You will be perfectly fine.

Yes my thyroid levels did change during pregnancy and my doctor adjusted my dose a couple of times. Thats why she made me test every few weeks. Please do regular follow ups, its very manageable when tracked.
