My thyroid was borderline before, and now in pregnancy my blood test value has changed. I have an appointment next week but I am tense because everyone says thyroid matters a lot. Did anyone's levels go up after conceiving?
From what I understand thyroid can fluctuate in pregnancy, and they keep a check because it matters for baby too. Im not an expert so I wouldnt say more than that, please get your levels tested and let your doctor guide the dose.
Yes the requirement changes during pregnancy so levels can rise or shift. Thats why TSH is part of the routine tests. If you are on thyroid medicine, never skip the follow up blood tests, the dose often needs tweaking.
It can change yes, but its very manageable so dont worry. Just get the test done as your doctor asks and take medicine if she advises. Lots of women have thyroid in pregnancy and do absolutely fine.
My gynac explained that pregnancy puts extra demand on the thyroid and levels can shift, which is why they test TSH early and monitor it. If its off, its managed with medicine and regular checks, so dont panic, just stay on top of testing.
Yes, thyroid levels can change during pregnancy, the demand on it goes up. I had thyroid and my doctor adjusted my dose and tested it regularly. If you have thyroid, definitely keep doing the follow up tests on time.
