I just found out im 6 weeks and im on thyroid tablets daily. Bit worried whether continuing the medicine is safe for the baby. I will ask my doctor at next visit but wanted to know ur experiences.
I was so scared the tablet would harm the baby and almost stopped it, big mistake. My doc calmly explained it is needed and safe. Please dont stop without asking, I learnt that the worry was for nothing.
The medicine is actually needed to keep you and baby safe, untreated thyroid is the bigger risk. I took mine all through and baby is perfectly fine. Just keep up the regular testing so the dose stays right.
My doctor explained that the standard thyroid medicine is considered safe in pregnancy and actually important to continue. Stopping it on your own is what causes problems. They monitor your levels and adjust as needed.
