My latest report showed tsh a little higher than my pre pregnancy value and im 9 weeks now. Gynac said we'll discuss but i couldnt stop googling. Is it normal for it to go up in pregnancy?
I have thyroid along with PCOS and yes mine moved during pregnancy. I didnt try to manage it myself, just followed my doctors test schedule. Pls dont self adjust the dose, that part really needs the doc.
My TSH did change during pregnancy and my doc adjusted my dose few times. They like to keep it on the lower side during pregnancy. Best is regular testing every trimester, dont skip those.
My gynac explained that thyroid demand goes up in pregnancy so TSH can shift, and targets are tighter than normal. She tested me every few weeks and tweaked medicine accordingly. Pls go by your own reports, dont guess.
It can vary, body needs more thyroid hormone when pregnant. But honestly the numbers and what to do depend on your own blood report, so let your endocrinologist or gynac decide. They monitor it closely.
