My hcg is rising but the doctor couldnt clearly see anything in the uterus on the first scan and now im so anxious. going for another ultrasound in a few days. does the scan actually pick up if its ectopic? trying to understand before my appointment.
Yes, ultrasound is the main way they spot it, often along with a blood hCG test. Sometimes very early it may not be clearly seen and they repeat the scan in a few days. If u r worried about pain on one side or bleeding, get checked soon, ectopic needs quick attention.
It does show on scan, sometimes after a repeat one if its too early. We watched mine very closely after IVF for exactly this. If you feel something is off, please call your doctor, they will scan and check hormone levels.
Yes it does dear. If you are asking out of worry, just book a scan and let them confirm everything is in the right place. Better to get that reassurance early than sit with anxiety.
My gynac explained that a transvaginal scan usually shows it better than belly scan in early weeks. They look whether the sac is in the uterus or outside. Combined with hCG numbers they can tell. So yes ultrasound is key for diagnosing it.
It can yes, but please dont wait around if u have sharp one sided pain, shoulder tip pain or spotting. I had a scare and they did a scan plus blood tests together. This is one thing where u go to the doctor straight away, not later.
