My report came and vitamin d is on the lower side. Gynac mentioned it casually but now im wondering if it actually matters for the baby or just for me. Anyone here had low vitamin d in pregnancy?
The vit D test is not very costly and most labs do it with the routine pregnancy panel, so it gets covered together. Worth doing once instead of buying random supplements on your own.
Beta in our time we just sat in the morning sun for 15-20 min and that helped a lot. Thoda dhoop lena is always good. But for the actual levels pls let the doctor test, don't only depend on sunlight.
It does play a role but the amount you need is individual, so honestly the safest thing is to follow your doctor's prescription rather than self dosing. Mine adjusted mine after seeing the report.
My gynac actually checked my vit D in the first trimester and it was low, so she put me on a weekly supplement. She told me it matters for the baby's bones and for my own immunity. Better to get the blood test done than guess, na.
Yaar so many of us in the city are deficient actually, flats mein dhoop hi nahi aati properly. My doc gave me sachets, taste was weird but I managed. Just get tested once.
