I'm in my first trimester and want to make sure I'm doing everything right. Could someone tell me about the common "don'ts" or things to avoid during pregnancy to keep myself and the baby healthy?
Don't spend a bomb on fancy maternity foods and heavy exercises. Just avoid lifting heavy buckets of water, don't eat outside street food to prevent stomach infections, and avoid wearing tight clothes or high heels. Simple daily walking is more than enough.
Ghar ke bade bolte hain ki kachha papita aur ananas bilkul nahi khana chahiye, aur bhari balti ya saman nahi uthana chahiye. Seedhiyan bhi dhyan se chadhna aur seedha peeth ke bal mat sona. Apne sharir ka dhyan rakhna behen.
I just had my baby and my doctor gave me some clear don'ts: don't sit in hot tubs, don't sleep on your back after the 2nd trimester (always sleep on your side), and don't do any strenuous bending. Also, don't stress about the house chores, just delegate them!
First of all, don't take any medicines without consulting your doctor, even basic painkillers are not safe. Also, avoid raw or undercooked foods and unpasteurized milk. Just keep your meals simple and fresh.
For me, the biggest don't was avoiding processed foods, sweets, and high-carb snacks because of my gestational diabetes. Don't skip meals or go on long fasts as it can fluctuate your sugar levels. Always eat balanced meals with lots of salad and protein.
