Do's and don ts during initial stage of pregnancy?
Just found out im pregnant, like 6 weeks only. Everyone at ghar is telling me different different things, dont do this dont eat that, im so confused. Can someone tell what to actually follow in these early weeks?
Looking back, I realize I stressed way too much in my first 3 months. Just take your folic acid regularly and avoid lifting heavy buckets. Rest as much as u can, your body is doing big work.
When I got my positive test, my hospital gave me a complete printed guide of dos and don'ts. It's best to have a quick call with your gynac's assistant to get a tailored list. Every pregnancy is different, so expert advice is always safest.
Please avoid raw papaya and pineapple strictly as they can cause contractions. Also, no self-medicating even for a simple headache. If you feel any mild cramping or spotting, talk to your doctor immediately without waiting.
Rule number one: sleep now as much as you can because sleep is going to become a luxury soon! Don't worry about keeping the house clean. Just eat, sleep, and try not to throw up.
The main thing in the initial weeks is letting the pregnancy establish. Make sure you don't miss your doctor appointments and scan dates. Avoid hot water tubs or heating pads on your stomach, keep your body temperature normal.
Simple rules: stop drinking tea/coffee all day, limit it to one cup. Don't do heavy exercises if you aren't used to it. And please, stop reading scary things on Google, it only ruins peace of mind.
Do eat what your body wants but in moderation. I had terrible morning sickness, so my only 'do' was staying hydrated with coconut water. Just say a big no to street food for a few months to avoid stomach infections!
