Just found out im pregnant, around 6 weeks now and honestly im a little nervous since its my first. Theres so much advice coming from everyone i dont know what to actually follow. Would love to hear from you all what really matters in these early weeks.
Big don't, dont let your stomach go fully empty, that made my nausea way worse. Keep biscuits or nimbu paani handy. Do take rest without guilt and start your folic acid. The first three months are the hardest honestly, it gets better after.
Do's: folic acid daily, plenty of water, light food in small portions, your first scan and tests. Don'ts: no smoking alcohol, no raw or street food, no heavy lifting, no random medicines without asking doc. Honestly just eat clean, rest and dont stress too much.
First trimester I felt so tired and nauseous all the time, I thought something was wrong but it's normal. What helped me, start folic acid, eat small meals, rest a lot, and dont lift heavy. Be gentle with yourself, the tiredness does pass by 3rd month.
Main things, eat well, sleep well, folic acid, and avoid anything risky like alcohol, smoking, x rays, raw foods. And please if you get bleeding or strong cramps, call your doctor at once, dont wait. Otherwise relax, your body knows what to do.
Realistically in first trimester just manage the basics, folic acid, hydration and rest whenever you can squeeze it. I kept dry snacks at my desk for nausea. Avoid skipping meals and avoid super long stretches of standing. Book your gynac appointment early, dont delay.
My family told me to be extra careful in first three months, avoid heavy travel and heavy work, eat home cooked warm food. I'd add, take your folic acid and do the early scans your doctor asks. Stay calm and positive, that matters more than people realise.
Dont overthink it yaar, the list is simple. Eat clean, drink water, take folic acid, skip the alcohol and smoke, and rest. Dont google every little symptom, it'll just scare you. Just go for your checkups regularly and you're sorted.
