First time pregnant and honestly everyone is giving me different advice, im so confused. Just want a clear idea of what to do and what to avoid. experienced mommas pls share ur list?
Do's: Get enough rest, eat home-cooked nutritious food, and go for regular walks if your doctor permits. Don'ts: Avoid unpasteurized dairy, raw meat, and excessive caffeine. Also, don't ignore any new symptoms; always call your gynac if something feels off. Simple changes make a big difference.
I'm still in the planning stage, but I've been doing so much research on this! Everyone says do take folic acid, don't smoke or drink. And 'do' eat healthy, but also 'don't' restrict yourself completely if you get a weird craving, haha. It sounds like a lot to remember, right?
Hey! Main thing is, don't stress too much about every single rule. Your gynac will give you the main list. Do eat well, stay hydrated, and take your prenatal vitamins. Don't lift heavy things, don't eat raw or undercooked stuff. But honestly, a lot of it is common sense. Just enjoy this time!
Oh, the dos and don'ts! My biggest do was 'indulge those cravings (within reason, haha!)' and my biggest don't was 'don't let anyone tell you not to eat that mango pickle you desperately want'. Of course, avoiding raw fish and too much caffeine is important, but a little treat here and there makes the journey so much better!
From my experience, a huge DO is to listen to your body and rest, especially in the last trimester. And DON'T lift anything heavy! I had a C-section, and that advice was crucial even post-delivery for recovery. Also, hydration is key, drink plenty of water.
