got a positive on the home test this morning and im excited but also scared its a false positive. this is our first try. how reliable are these really, did urs match with the doctor confirmation?
They're accurate enough for a first check at home, which is convenient when you can't run to a clinic right away. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions. Then confirm with your doctor when you can. That worked for me both times.
Pretty accurate when done right, around 97-99 percent if you test after your period is actually missed and use morning urine. Testing too early is what gives wrong results. If unsure, retest in 2-3 days or do a blood test.
I felt so nervous doing mine, tested too early first and got a negative, then a few days later it was clearly positive. So they work well, just don't test the second you suspect. Wait for the missed period.
My gynac said they're very reliable but timing matters, the hormone needs to build up first. A positive is almost always correct, but a false negative can happen if you test too soon. The blood test at the clinic is the most accurate confirmation.
