My little one asked me how the baby breathes inside the tummy and i actually didnt have a proper answer haha. Now im genuinely curious myself, how does the baby get oxygen when its inside? Can someone explain simply?
Through the cord and placenta, simple as that. You breathe, your blood carries oxygen, the placenta hands it over to the baby via the umbilical cord. Baby's lungs are basically resting till delivery.
The baby gets everything, oxygen and food, from you through that lovely cord connected to the placenta. Thats why your own health and rest matter so much. Beautiful how the body manages it na.
Such a sweet question. The baby doesnt breathe with lungs inside, the oxygen comes from you through the placenta and the umbilical cord. Your blood passes oxygen to the placenta, and the cord carries it to the baby. My doctor explained the lungs only start working after birth.
I wondered the same thing and asked my gynac. She said the baby gets oxygen from my blood through the placenta and cord, not by breathing. It actually made me feel responsible to take deep breaths and rest properly, anyone else feel that?
