Im in my 3rd trimester and keep worrying if my baby is gaining enough weight. The reports look fine but i still get anxious about it. How does the weight actually build up week by week? just want to understand.
My doctor explained that most of the baby's weight gain happens in the last trimester, that's when they really grow fast. She tracked it through the growth scans rather than guessing. A balanced diet with enough protein, dairy and iron was what she focused on for me.
Haan baby ka weight mostly last ke months mein badhta hai na. I just ate home food properly, milk daily, and didn't believe all the eat-for-two talk. Doctor checks it in the scan, so don't stress yourself over it.
Don't stress over forcing baby weight with extra food yaar. Eat proper meals, protein, milk, fruits, and the baby takes what it needs. The scan numbers will tell you if growth is on track, listen to your gynac on that.
The growth scans are the proper way to know baby's weight, usually they check around the third trimester. They aren't too expensive and worth doing as the doctor schedules. For food I kept it simple, dal, eggs, milk, seasonal fruits, nothing fancy needed.
Try not to worry too much about the exact numbers, every baby grows at its own pace. As long as your scans and doctor say it's fine, you're doing great. Eat well, rest well and trust the process.
One thing I learnt the hard way, more eating doesn't equal healthy baby weight, it can just raise your sugar. With my GD the doctor balanced my diet carefully so baby grew well without me overeating. Please go by your gynac's diet plan rather than eating ghee and sweets to fatten the baby.
